Чем выше скорости (90 км/ч и более), тем выше кинетическая энергия вращающихся колес, тем менее они склонны к блокировке, следовательно, в этот момент можно приложить к педали тормоза большее усилие. Однако, и это главное, по мере замедления автомобиля усилие на педаль надо ослаблять, чтобы избежать блокировки колес в конце торможения. Этот навык требует определенного волевого усилия и специальных тренировок на автодроме, так как обычно чем ближе препятствие, тем сильнее хочется нажать на педаль тормоза.
